Citizen science club:
In this program, children who have an interest in scientist will become a citizen scientist. It is a movement to make a difference in the world. In this club, using a smartphone or tablet, we will observe and record information for scientists around the world. We will do this to help address local and global problems.
This program is for children up to 6th grade. Teens can volunteer to help for service hours. You will help show children how to upload a picture on an app and answer a few questions about their observation. If this sounds good to you, sign up to make a difference! You can also participate in this program, after you help your assigned scientist.
Program 1: Wild Watch Monday August 2, 9, 23 and 30th.
We will explore nature in the backyard of the library and the park and snap a picture of nature. We will record the name of the wildlife and upload to Xplore! Science Discovery Center. They are located in Wrecsam, Wales. Scientists will be able to use this information to help them learn more about our local environment. Children will need a smartphone or iPad. Call Ms. Debbie if you do not have access to this technology but want to join the club. (firstname.lastname@example.org or 201.641.0689.
