1000 Books Before Kindergarten at the
Ridgefield Park Public Library!

Ridgefield Park Public Library is proud to be participating in the 1000 Books Before Kindergarten program! This program is for children from infancy through kindergarten. 1000 Books Before Kindergarten is a national program with a very simple goal: to create lifetime readers starting at a very early age!

There is no begin or end date for this program. Just read with your child and ENJOY! If you have any questions, please stop by and see Ms. Ariel or email at ariel.barreras@ridgefieldpark.bccls.org.
Here is how to get started:
-
Register at the children’s desk at Ridgefield Park Library or here on our website. After registration, you will receive your first reading log and recommended reading list.
-
Start logging your books on paper or on the "1000 Books Before Kindergarten" app (iTunes or Android).
-
Bring your log to Ridgefield Park Library at each milestone (100, 200, 300, 400, 500, 600, 700, 800, 900, and 1,000 books) to receive a reward.
-
Any child who reaches 1,000 books will have his/her picture posted on our website (with your permission) and invited to a fun storytime party at the end of the year.
