1000 Books Before Kindergarten

Ridgefield Park Public Library is proud to be participating in 1000 Books Before Kindergarten free reading program. This program is for children from infancy through kindergarten.  1000 Books Before Kindergarten is a national program with a very simple goal:  to create lifetime readers starting at a very early age.

  1. Register at the children’s desk at Ridgefield Park Library.  Pick up your log and recommended reading lists.

  2. Start logging your books on paper or on the "1000 Books Before Kindergarten" app (iTunes or Android).

  3. Bring your log to Ridgefield Park Library at each milestone (50, 100, 200, 300, 400, 500, 600, 700, 800, 900, and 1,000 books) to receive a reward.

  4. Any child who reaches 1,000 books will have his/her picture posted on our website (with your permission) and invited to a fun storytime party at the end of the year.

There is no begin or end date for this program.  Just read with your child and ENJOY! If you have any questions, please stop by and see Ms. Ariel or email at ariel.barreras@ridgefieldpark.bccls.org.
